UBS banks on ABEC
Flexibility and a proactive approach won ABEC the 4 year contract to maintain all the building controls for UBS London’s nine City buildings.
Each building has been installed with systems from multiple manufacturers, so UBS London’s FM provider, Norland Managed Services required a controls specialist with the right mix and broad range of knowledge. Both the end client and facilities manager were keen to use just one BEMS company, with the benefit of a single point of contact this brings, rather than dealing with multiple specialists.
ABEC was able to fulfil UBS London’s expectations, demonstrating the right level of expertise across each manufacturer’s products. Because ABEC directly employs a team of trusted in-house engineers, it is able to meet the demands of this contract.
Our team is carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the entire portfolio of buildings. ABEC will deliver onsite support, working closely with Norland Managed Services’ own engineers and staff to support operation of the HVAC plant. In addition ABEC is providing 24/7 reactive support, with a guaranteed response utilising site and rota engineers to respond to any emergency or system breakdown.
Taking a fully integrated approach, ABEC is also involved on project and energy works across the portfolio. This involves upgrade works and general system modifications, working with Norland Managed Services and other M&E contractors for UBS London.
By developing a tailored package of services, our transparent approach to service delivery ensures Norland Managed Services will receive best value alongside a high quality service that is efficient and reliably delivered.
“Customer contact is vital to our business,” explains Daniel Kittow, managing director of ABEC, “Only through communication and a ‘plain English’ approach in all that we do, can we ensure Norland Managed Services receives the best service and efficiently optimised systems across the UBS London City portfolio.”

“This particular contract involved technically demanding specifications, ABEC’s expertise in this field, high quality service and ability won them the contract. The trusted engineers and close working relationship meant that ABEC were particularly suited to our needs, as we only wanted to use just the one BEMS company on the London Campus, to ensure the work was carried out with consistency.”
