Meet the team – Lauren Halling
Our Meet the Team series shines a light on the people who help keep ABEC moving. Since joining in August 2024, Accounts Payable Clerk Lauren Halling has quickly become a key part of the finance team.
From supporting supplier relationships to keeping payments on track, Lauren plays an important role behind the scenes. Read on to learn more about her journey and what she enjoys most about being part of ABEC.
Can you tell us a bit about your role?
I am part of the team responsible for receiving, processing and paying invoices from our supply partners. I help keep the financial wheels turning.
What do you enjoy most about working for ABEC?
It’s definitely the people here. Everyone is friendly and always willing to help. The people within my team are the best! We all work collaboratively and are always on hand to help one another, which makes the working day a good one; even when we have very busy days. I was initially very apprehensive working somewhere new, but I was immediately put at ease by how welcoming everyone was.
Why do you think clients choose to work with ABEC?
ABEC has a great reputation in the industry for dependability and the customer service offered to clients. Backing up this reputation with the work we do is how strong client relationships are built.
What do you think is ABEC’s biggest strength?
You can see the business cares about the employees, and I think that is a very important strength of a business. Even though it’s obvious, some companies do not put their employees high on their priority list.
What makes a good client/supplier relationship?
I think ABEC’s core values sum it up. It’s about having a can-do attitude, taking ownership, providing solutions and maintaining clear communication.
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time with family and friends, regular dance classes and I’m always partial to a brunch (bottomless cocktails preferable!).
If you weren’t working for ABEC, what would be your dream job?
It’s not a job, but I’ve always dreamed of winning the lottery so I could travel the world.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d love to visit the Seychelles.
