ABEC contribute to low carbon transformation

The control and monitoring system is based on Trend IQ4E products and a Trend 963 supervisor PC.

ABEC successfully completed the BMS elements of a transformation of a 1980s built office block, Summit House, into 9,500 square metres of low carbon, energy efficient workspace. ABEC were appointed by long-term M&E partner – T Clarke, working on behalf of the main contractor Willmott Dixon. ABEC were selected based on our pragmatic and innovative approach, and ability to work collaboratively with other contractors.

The control and monitoring system is based on Trend IQ4E products and a Trend 963 supervisor PC providing the graphical user interface for the 3 main building control panels. As well as controlling and monitoring the usual plant and building services, the BMS was also configured to control the roller blinds on all floors. This was achieved by the BMS receiving information from a weather station positioned on the roof including Solar Intensity, Sun Direction etc., comparing it against the pre-determined setpoints, and adjusting the blinds accordingly.
